Job summary

Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma seeks an experienced Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician to support a wide range of surgical procedures at JBLM. Responsibilities include patient and room prep, instrument setup, assisting during procedures, maintaining aseptic technique, counting supplies, and assisting with dressings after surgery.

Strong teamwork and quick response to emergencies are essential.

Qualifications

• US Citizen
• Graduate from a Surgical Technology program accredited by CAAHEP/ABHES or completion of military training for surgical technicians
• Certified CST/TS-C or MOS certification for surgical techs
• BLS
• Minimum 1 year experience as Surgical Technician/OR Technician; familiarity with Labor and Delivery/Obstetric procedures

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, operating rooms, instruments and supplies for surgery.
• Assist during procedures and maintain aseptic technique.
• Perform surgical counts and assist with postoperative dressings.
• Maintain a clean, safe OR environment and respond to emergencies promptly.
