Job summary

AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking qualified Surgical Technologists to support the Department of Anesthesia and Operative Services at Madigan Army Medical Center. The role involves preparing patients, instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies; assisting surgeons and nurses during procedures; and maintaining sterile technique in a high-stakes operating room environment.

Shift rotations include 8-, 10-, and 12-hour blocks with duties ranging from routine to high-risk neurosurgical and trauma cases.

Qualifications

• Certificate is required; graduate of a Surgical Technology program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES, or completion of U.S. Army/Navy/Air Force training as a surgical technician.
• NBSTSA CST, NCCT TS-C, or qualifying MOS as surgical/operating room technician certifications are accepted.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Maintain sterile and aseptic techniques throughout procedures.
• Prepare, position, and drape patients for surgery.
• Assist surgeons and the OR team during routine, complex, and trauma surgeries.
• Pass instruments and anticipate the surgeon’s needs.
• Perform required sponge, needle, sharp, and instrument counts.
• Respond quickly to surgical emergencies and patient-safety concerns.

Education

Certificate; Surgical Technology program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES

Completion of formal U.S. Army, Navy, or Air Force training as a surgical technician/surgical technologist/operating room technician
