Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Missouri is seeking a Surgical Technician to support perioperative services in busy operating rooms. You will prepare the OR, assist with sterile supplies, and help with cultures and specimens under RN supervision.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma, are certified as Surgical Technicians, and have up to 2 years of experience or military equivalents. This role includes call and holiday rotation and cross-department collaboration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• <2 years or military equivalent experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating room for surgical patient, reviews preference cards, obtains supplies/equipment, ensures cleanliness, assists with sterile supplies.
• Performs surgical scrub duties, assists with collection/identification/disposition of cultures and specimens.
• Assists in turnover of room and returns supplies, instruments, and equipment to proper location.
