Job summary

St. David's Georgetown Hospital, part of St. David’s HealthCare, is hiring a Surgical Technician to assist with operating room preparation and intra-operative support.

You will help prepare patients, equipment, and rooms, maintain sterility, and assist the surgeon with instrumentation throughout procedures. The role requires prior Surgical Technician experience, graduation from an accredited program, and BLS certification, with certification due within 180 days of graduation.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience as a Surgical Technician in inpatient settings.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• BLS certification per policy.
• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist within 180 days of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cleaning and preparation of the operating room suite.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and operating rooms for each procedure.
• Maintain a clean and safe operating room and assist the surgeon with instrumentation.
• Support intra-operative management and instrument counts with the circulating nurse.
• Ensure supply and equipment readiness and sterilization of devices.
