Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team with sterile setups, instrument handling, and supplies management. This role includes preparing sterile materials, restocking, and assisting in OR cleanup to maintain a safe surgical environment.

Qualifications include completing a Surgical Technologist Training Program or equivalent, and an active American Heart Association CPR certification. Flexibility to work across UCSF Health locations is required.

Qualifications

• Active American Heart Association CPR Certification.
• Graduate of Surgical Technologist Training Program, or equivalent.
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations.

Responsibilities

• Arrange sterile setups for surgical procedures.
• Pass instruments, sponges, and sutures to surgeons and surgical assistants.
• Prepare sterile supplies.
• Assist in the cleanup of the operating room.
• Check the placement and operation of equipment.
• Restock the operating room as needed.
• Handle special trays, grafting materials, and patient data recording.

Surgical Technologists perform a variety of tasks in an operating room and assist the surgical team, including: arrange sterile setups for surgical procedures; pass instruments, sponges, and sutures to surgeons and surgical assistants; prepare sterile supplies; assist in the cleanup of the operating room; check the placement and operation of equipment; and check and restock the operating room. During surgical procedures, may be responsible for special trays, grafting materials, and patient data recording. Also, perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
• Graduate of Surgical Technologist Training Program; or equivalent
• Knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
• High School Diploma; or equivalent experience
• The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist License/Certifications
• Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
