Job summary

UCSF Health, AG is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the operating room team under RN supervision. You will assist in preparation, processing, and care of instruments and equipment, and function as a key member of the surgical team during procedures.

The role requires knowledge of aseptic technique, the ability to scrub independently in orthopedic cases, and flexibility to work across UCSF Medical Center locations.

Qualifications

• Experience in an ambulatory surgery center.
• Active American Heart Association CPR C certification.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation, processing, care and maintenance of instruments, supplies and equipment.
• Scrub independently in orthopedic procedures and support the surgical team.
• Know aseptic technique and anticipate the needs of the surgeon during procedures.

Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technician assists in the preparation, processing, care and maintenance of instruments, supplies and equipment, and functions as a member of the surgical team during operative procedures.

The individual must know aseptic technique and be able to scrub independently in orthopedic procedures, anticipating the needs of the surgeon, and have knowledge in the sequencing of the surgical procedures.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Experience working in an ambulatory surgery center
• Active American Heart Association CPR C ertification
• High School D iploma or equivalent experience
• This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Surgical Technologist Certification
• Completion of Surgical Technologist Program within past two years

License/Certifications:

• Active American Heart Association CPR C ertification
