Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking an experienced Senior Surgical Technologist to support operations across UCSF locations, including Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland and Walnut Creek. You will assist in preparing, processing and maintaining supplies and equipment as part of the surgical team.

The role requires scrubbing across multiple service lines, proficiency in at least two specialties, and AHA CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Two years recent scrubbing clinical experience in an acute care operating room.
• Recent experience scrubbing in at least three service lines: General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Orthopedics/Spine, Otolaryngology/Airway, Plastics, or Cardiac.
• Demonstrated proficiency in at least two surgical specialties.
• Active American Heart Association (AHA) CPR Certification for healthcare providers.
• High School Diploma; or equivalent experience.
• Graduate of a surgical technologist training program; or equivalent experience.
• Flexibility to work and orient at all UCSF Health locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, processing, and maintenance of supplies and equipment, and serve as a member of the surgical team during operative procedures.
• Function as the Senior Surgical Technologist in a specialty service and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
• Provide support and orientation across UCSF Health locations including Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland and Walnut Creek.

Job Description

This position requires flexibility to work across various UCSF Medical Center locations, including Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland and Walnut Creek.

The Surgical Technologist assists in the preparation, processing, and maintenance of supplies and equipment, and functions as a member of the surgical team during operative procedures. In addition to performing the duties of the Surgical Technologist, the Senior Surgical Technologist functions in a specialty service and utilizes and troubleshoots service implementation and equipment and is a resource to the Surgical Technologists.

The UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland (OR) consists of 11 surgical suites and 1 procedural.

Walnut Creek (OR) has two surgical suites and one special procedure room.

Our primary focus is multidisciplinary team-based approach and staffing.

Services include, but are not limited to: Neurology, Ortho/Spine, Otolaryngology, Urology, Plastics, Ophthalmology, Dental, Cardiac, General Surgery, GI, Hem/Onc.

Preferred Requirements:

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist
• Pediatric experience desired

License/Certifications:
