Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist to support surgeons in the operating room at Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville, WI. The role involves preparing sterile rooms, handling instruments, and anticipating the surgeon's needs to ensure patient safety throughout procedures.

The position requires knowledge of sterile technique, anatomy, and surgical procedures. Eligible candidates may be responsible for mentoring new staff and promoting national certification,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program required.
• LPN grandfathered (3) at Rockford campus in lieu of Surgical Technology program.

Responsibilities

• Assists with maintaining sterile field and prepares equipment for procedures.
• Scrubs, gowns, gloves, and sets up sterile table with instruments and supplies.
• Assists surgical team before, during, and after surgery as directed by the surgeon.
