Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team at our Massachusetts facility. You will assist surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists, ensuring sterile technique and safe patient care throughout procedures.

The role requires CST certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least 1 year of acute care experience. This onsite position offers a 40-hour week and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Must be Certified as Surgical Technologist (CST) or meet equivalent education requirements.
• 1 year experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
• Set up sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment for the surgery.
• Transport patients to the operating room, help with positioning on the surgical table, and ensure safety and comfort during the procedure.
• Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment to the surgical team during procedures.
• Follow proper sterilization techniques to ensure cleanliness and sterility of instruments and supplies.
• Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures, including counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments used.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other members of the surgical team.
• Assist in preparing the surgical site by applying sterile drapes and solutions.
• Secure and manage surgical drains and catheters as directed by the surgeon.
