Responsibilities

• Assist with the nursing care of patients preoperatively, intraoperatively, and postoperatively by performing routine and delegated duties according to the standards of the department and hospital practice and policies.
• Responsible for the preparation and disbursement of surgical supplies, equipment, and instrumentation - pre, intra, and post-operatively.
• Demonstrate knowledge of principles of asepsis.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the standards of AORN guidelines.
• Assume responsibility for clinical competence and professional development.
• Participate in the responsible management of all departmental resources.
• Takes calls as required by the department.
