Job summary

A healthcare provider in Weirton is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in surgical patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The ideal candidate should have completed a surgical technology program, hold the appropriate certification, and possess CPR certification. Responsibilities include creating a sterile field, assisting in surgical procedures, and maintaining inventory. This full-time position offers 40 hours per week in a dynamic operating room environment.

Qualifications

• Must have two (2) years of experience working in an OR setting.
• Strong communication and rapport-building abilities.
• Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Create and maintain a sterile field during procedures.
• Perform scrub duties and surgical counts with a RN.

Skills

Ability to follow strict sterile technique

Ability to set up operating room with instruments

Knowledge of aseptic techniques

Education

Completion of a surgical technology program

Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) or Tech in Surgery certification (TS-C)

CPR certification
