Henrico Doctors Hospital is seeking a Certified Obstetric Surgical Technologist to join our Labor and Delivery team. You will prepare the surgical suite, support obstetric procedures, and help ensure compassionate care for newborns while applying aseptic technique and participating in time-outs with the surgical team.

You’ll also contribute to equipment planning, unit operations, and ongoing professional development, with on-call support and pathways for career growth within our hospital network.

Qualifikationen

• Required - Virginia Surgical Technologist licensure.
• Preferred - 1 year experience as surgical technologist.

• Assists surgeon performing surgical procedures in the Labor and Delivery Operating Room by handling surgical instruments, managing perioperative counts and participating in surgical time-outs.
• Utilizes principles of aseptic technique in creating and maintaining a sterile field.
• Plans and provides equipment and supplies bases on patient and physician needs
• Assists the Registered Nurse with Obstetrical Circulating Duties.
• Adheres to hospital safety policies and practices universal precautions.
• Contributes to the smooth operation of the Labor and Delivery Unit.
• Orders and stocks unit supplies.
• Assumes responsibility for professional development.
• Provides a safe environment for the patient during their perioperative experience.
• Supports patient teaching including family and/or significant others.
• Other duties, as appropriate to scope

Job Summary and Qualifications

What qualifications you will need:

EXPERIENCE

Required - Current Surgical Technologist licensure by state of Virginia

Preferred - 1 year experience as surgical technologist.
