Job summary

HSHS St. Vincent Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team with intraoperative care, instrument handling, and sterile field maintenance. You will assist with patient transfer and positioning, and prepare equipment for procedures.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, with an Associate degree in Surgical Technology preferred. Certification as CST or TS-C is expected, with BLS completion.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED. Associate degree in surgical technology preferred.
• Graduate from recognized surgical technology program or military training in surgical technology required.
• Military documentation (DD214) may establish education equivalence.
• In Illinois, HS diploma or GED plus 3 years healthcare surgical tech experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team in providing intraoperative care.
• Prepare and monitor equipment for surgical procedures.
• Pass instruments and maintain sterile field.
• Assist with patient transfer and positioning.
• Perform a variety of surgical skills and procedures as directed.
