Job summary

Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego, part of Scripps Health, is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a full-time 12-hour evening shift in the Hillcrest area. You will ensure OR readiness, maintain sterile technique, and support a fast-paced surgical team.

Requirements include 1 year of OR tech experience or a certified program and a current BLS certification. CST certification and trauma experience are preferred. Relocation incentives may apply for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a Surgical Technologist or completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist training program.
• Current BLS from the American Heart Association.
• Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, ability to multi-task and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure OR rooms are ready for surgery with sterile case supplies.
• Monitor sterile field throughout procedures.
• Scrub for cases and anticipate needs of the physician and team.
• Position and transport patients.
• Organize room cleanup and turnover efficiently.

This is a full-time, 12-hour evening shift at Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest.

Bonus Eligible* Hours are primarily 10;30-23:00 or sometimes 8:30-21:00.

• Ensure OR rooms are ready for surgery, including all case-specific supplies and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
• Monitor sterile field throughout procedure.
• Scrub for cases, anticipate the needs of the physician and operating team.
• Position and transport patients.
• Organize room cleanup and ensure efficient room turnover, including decontaminating equipment as necessary.

• Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• One (1) year of recent experience as a Surgical Technologist or completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist training program.
• Current BLS from the American Heart Association
• Excellent communication skills. Basic computer skills. Able to multi-task and work well in a team environment. Detail oriented and able work well in a fast-paced, high stress environment.

• 2 years' experience
• CST Certification
• 1 year trauma experience
