Job summary

Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE is seeking a Part Time Surgical Technologist to support intraoperative nursing care in the Labor and Delivery department. You will perform scrub duties and assist physicians and staff to promote efficient OR operations.

Qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent, graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent scrub experience, and BLS certification from an AHA-endorsed program. Spanish bilingual skills are a plus in some areas.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology certification program OR equivalent training/scrub experience with an accredited institution required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association endorsed program required upon unit orientation.
• Spanish language ability may be preferred in some clinical areas.

Work Schedule

Part Time - 12 hour shift

• Working one 12 hour day shift per week, Monday - Sunday, 7:00am - 7:00pm

Required Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology certification program OR equivalent training/scrub experience with an accredited institution required

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (BLS with skills assessment or approved BLS) upon completion of unit orientation required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience as a surgical technologist or assistant preferred.

• Knowledge of various surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies/materials, all patient care equipment and supplies, policy, procedure, and protocol manuals, audio-visual, video, and microscopic equipment, computers, telecommunication equipment, and wall/ceiling and tanked medical gases preferred.

• For some clinical areas, the ability to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish may be preferred.
