Job summary

Memorial Hospital in Marysville, OH is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our Surgery team. This full-time, benefits-eligible role supports a wide range of procedures and helps ensure a sterile, well-organized operating room.

You will prepare OR, provide instruments, perform counts, manage sterile field, and assist with patient care. Requires approved Surgical Technologist program and ongoing BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Diploma/certificate from an approved Surgical Technologist program or an Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology/healthcare related field.
• Ability to maintain continuous certification in American Heart Association/BLS.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize the operating room, equipment, instruments and supplies for use in various procedures.
• Anticipate and provide instruments and supplies to the surgical team during procedures.
• Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts.
• Prepare patient specimens and medications of sterile field.
• Set up and maintain an organized sterile field.
• Utilize proper body mechanics when moving/positioning patients and equipment.
• Prepare sterile dressings as needed.
• Provide circulator with product packaging information for patient charging.
• Clean and prepare surgical instruments for processing and transport to decontamination.
• Assist with post-procedure cleaning of the operative room and prep for next patient.
