Job summary

Christiana Care Health System in Delaware is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist the surgical team under the direction of a professional nurse, providing skilled perioperative care for patients undergoing procedures.

The role requires completing an accredited surgical technologist program, a high school diploma, at least 1 year of experience, BCLS, NBSTSA CST or NCCT TS-C certification, and willingness to learn scrub techniques; it includes weekend/on-call duties and a $10,000 sign-on

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program for any employee hired after 2009.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficient clinical skills in the scrub role.
• Demonstrates ability to scrub on a wide range of procedures.
• Demonstrates knowledge of handling instruments/equipment in the OR and aseptic technique.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and communicates effectively with the team.
• Acts as a preceptor for new employees to improve clinical practice.
