Job summary

Mountain View Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist II to join our perioperative team. The Surgical Technologist assists the surgeon at the sterile field by providing sterile instruments and supplies during operative procedures, and maintains the sterile field through aseptic practices.

Under the supervision of the Surgery Team Leader, you will prepare the patient for surgery, assist in nursing care, and perform delegated duties.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician Program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
• Minimum 1 year operating room experience required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and perform surgical cases by assembling equipment and supplies per physician preference.
• Open sterile packs and maintain sterile technique.
• Prepare sterile field including counts of sponges, needles, instruments.
• Assist in cleaning and decontaminating instruments and operating room after surgery.
• Assist the circulator in patient positioning and moving to/from the operating table.
• Maintain aseptic principles and assist with intraoperative safety.
