Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care seeks a Surgical Technologist II to join the Downtown Campus operating room team. You will assist with procedures, prepare equipment, and maintain a sterile field, supporting patient care during day shifts.

Ideal candidates have formal surgical technology training or NBSTSA/NCCT certification and at least two years of experience, with preceptor duties and merit pay opportunities. Benefits include paid vacation and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Completion of surgical technology program or certification.
• Two years as a Surgical Technologist.
• Ability to scrub multiple surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical area for patient care and anticipates needs of the team.
• Serves as primary preceptor for students and interns.
• Applies knowledge to emergency situations in the OR.
• Maintains sterile field and communicates with the surgeon.
• Precepts new staff and student technologists.
