Job summary

The MaineHealth Accountable Care Organization is seeking a Surgical Technologist II for Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME. This full-time, day-shift position supports surgical procedures by ensuring all necessary elements are in place and by assisting in staff and student instruction.

Qualified applicants will be graduates of an accredited Surgical Technology program, with certification within three months and current BLS.

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology required.
  • Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting required within three months of start date or at discretion of Director for positions at MMC.
  • Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
  • One year of experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Surgical Technologist I role.

Summary:

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology required.
  • License/Certifications: Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting required within three months of start date or at discretion of Director for positions at MMC. Certification preferred at SMHC. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.

The pay range for this position is $27.27 to $36.88 per hour.

Compensation for part‑time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full‑time equivalent (FTE).
