Job summary

Children’s Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join our pediatric hospital operating team. You will assist the surgeon, prepare the sterile field, and manage instruments and equipment to ensure safe, efficient procedures for neonatal to adult patients.

Four 10-hour shifts with rotating off days; orientation lasts about six months, with on-call requirements on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $10,000.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a surgical technologist program.
• Minimum 2 years of surgical technologist experience.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
• Surgical Technologist Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Function as a member of the surgical team, promoting safe patient care and assisting the surgeon by passing instruments and equipment.
• Prepare for surgical procedures and manage the sterile field; anticipate needs during procedures.
• Assist with orientation of new personnel in the surgical technologist role.

Here at Children’s Wisconsin you will grow not plateau! You will function as a member of the surgical team who promotes safe patient care, prepares for surgical procedures and manages the sterile field, assists the surgeon by passing instruments/equipment and anticipating needs during surgical procedures. Understands and satisfies the supply, instrumentation and equipment needs from neonatal to adult patients. Demonstrates advanced knowledge and proficient practice in the first scrub role for most surgical procedures. Assists with orientation of new personnel in the surgical technologist role.

Position requirements:

• Must have completion of a surgical technologist program.
• Experience required: 2 years of surgical technologist experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
• Surgical Technologist Certification preferred.

This position is (4) 10 hour shifts from 6:50am until5:20pm, with rotating off day.

Although final position will be (4) 10 hour shifts, orientation will be Monday through Friday from 6:50am until 3:20pm with off shift rotation. Orientation lasts approximately 6 months.

This position also includes weekday, weekend and holiday call requirements (must report to the hospital within 30 mins).
