Job summary

MercyOne Genesis seeks a Surgical Technician to join our team. This full-time, 32 hours/week role runs days (9am–5:30pm) and involves scrub duties under the RN's supervision.

Compensation reflects experience and hospital standards within MercyOne Genesis Health System. Requirements include graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or an LPN with surgical experience; CST preferred but not required in Iowa, or required within 18 months in Illinois.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology or LPN with surgical experience.
• CST certification preferred but not required in Iowa; required within 18 months if working in Illinois.
• At least 2 years' surgical experience preferred.
• BLS certification; Mandatory Reporter.
• Ability to work under pressure and with diverse groups; adapt to varied duties.

Responsibilities

• The Surgical Technician functions in the scrub role during intraoperative patient care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Maintain aseptic technique and support Genesis Medical Center standards.
• Assist with on-call rotation for nights, weekends, and holidays.
