Job summary

El Camino Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support surgical teams in planning, providing and evaluating direct patient care for surgical patients. You will work under direction of physicians and nurses to facilitate safe, invasive procedures and ensure a safe operating room environment.

Qualifications include completion of an accredited surgical technologist program, two years of acute care hospital experience, and strong English communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited surgical technologist program or military equivalent.
• Two years' experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care hospital.
• Ability to foster and maintain working relationships with coworkers and physicians.
• Ability to communicate in English and perform reading, writing, spelling and mathematics.
• Ability to prioritize, organize independently and work under stressful situations.
• Demonstrate disinfection and aseptic technique.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clinical nurse in planning, providing, and evaluating direct nursing care of surgical patients.
• Work under direction of a physician and surgeon or RN circulator to facilitate safe invasive procedures.
• Ensure operating room environment is safe and equipment functions properly.
• Maximize patient safety during operative procedures.
