Overview

Demonstrates skills needed to perform as a proficient certified surgical technologist.

Responsibilities
  • Performs first scrub role independently in multiple service lines and can scrub core and specialty procedures.
  • React professionally to unexpected changes and use instrumentation and equipment correctly.
  • Work with service specialists to improve surgeon preference cards.
  • Precept other staff in the scrub role.
  • Apply and enforce principles of sterile technique, maintain sharp safety, ensure medication safety on the surgical field, and perform surgical counts.
  • Anticipate surgeon’s requests on assigned surgical procedures.
  • Use critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Work in a fast‑paced environment and take appropriate action as needed.
Requirements
  • Surgical Technologist or Surgical Assistant certification required.
  • High School diploma or GED, completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program, Associate’s Degree, or military training.
  • State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration (DORA).
  • BLS Healthcare Provider certification; BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, with a valid card during the first 60 days of hire.
  • Certified as a Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
  • None required minimum experience.
Compensation

Hourly: $27.61 – $41.41 (dependent on relevant experience).

Full time, 40.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks).

Days shift; onsite; no remote option.
