Job summary

Howard University Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist II to join the Operating Room team in Washington, DC. You will support surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative nursing in sterile, patient-centered care, functioning across most procedures with intermediate equipment knowledge.

The role involves case setup, intraoperative support, and ensuring safety/compliance, with full-time day shifts and on-call requirements in a leading academic medical center.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Current CST certification; CSFA accepted.
• Minimum two years of CST experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pharmacology related to surgical care.
• Proficient in sterile/aseptic technique.

Responsibilities

• Prepare case setup and maintain sterile field for procedures.
• Assist intraoperative team with instruments, counts, and equipment.
• Support safety and compliance; follow policies and HIPAA.
