Job summary

3M HEALTHCARE is seeking a Surgical Technologist Non-Certified to support the surgical team under RN direction. The role involves preparing the operative suite, maintaining sterile fields, and assisting surgeons using appropriate instrumentation and supplies.

The candidate will participate in performance improvement, mentor staff, and adapt to cases of varying acuity while ensuring patient safety and compliance with Joint Commission standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization.
• Completion of vocational/technical training in Surgical Technology.
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operative suite and surgical field to ensure a safe patient care environment.
• Maintain the sterile field and monitor patient safety throughout procedures.
• Gather required instruments and supplies; assist as surgical assistant as needed.
• Assist with inventory, ordering and stocking ORs and perioperative areas.
• Ensure unit compliance with Joint Commission standards at all times.
• Call or late coverage may be required.
