Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey is seeking a Surgical Technologist I to support the operating room team under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will prepare the sterile field, maintain equipment, and assist with instrument handling throughout procedures.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited surgical technologist program, 0–2 years experience, and BLS certification; CST certifications are required unless exempt by NJ law.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• 0–2 years experience as a surgical technologist preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the sterile field and instrument set-ups for procedures.
• Assist the surgical team with scrub, gown, and glove procedures.
• Maintain aseptic technique and monitor sterile supplies throughout surgery.
• Assist with instrument counts and proper disposal of sharps after procedures.
• Participate in team briefings, timeouts, and de-briefings.
