Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Surgical Technologist to perform direct and indirect technical tasks for patients around surgical interventions. You will assist in the operating room setup, maintain aseptic technique, and support surgeon preferences while ensuring patient safety and efficient care.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from a college or technical school or equivalent.
• Three to six months related experience and/or training.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred 1–3 years of Surgical Technologist experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists in setting up the surgical operating suite with instruments and supplies.
• Uses aseptic techniques and follows standard precautions for medication and specimen handling.
• Prepares, positions and drapes patients and participates in the surgical pause to ensure correct patient and site.
• Adapts to surgeon preference and patient care variables and updates surgeon preference materials.
• Performs sponge, needle, and instrument count.
• Promotes cost effective and efficient environment for patients.
