Job summary

Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia is seeking an OR Surgical Technician for a full-time, 40-hour week with rotating day shifts. Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, the technician supports the surgical team during procedures and helps ensure patient safety.

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent and graduate from an accredited surgical technology program; BLS and Certified Surgical Technologist are required, with certification rules applying to hires after 2020.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent – Required.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program – Required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
• Certified Surgical Technologist – Required

Responsibilities

• Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, assists in patient care and safety during surgical procedures.
• Prepares sterile field, instruments, and equipment according to procedure and surgeon's preferences.
• Anticipates the surgeon's needs and supports timely, safe patient care.
