Job summary

Orthopaedic Surgery Center at Bryn Mawr is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a full-time, on-site role in our ambulatory surgery center. The ideal candidate will scrub on a variety of procedures, assist surgeons and nurses, and uphold strict sterile technique and patient safety standards.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, OR tech experience, and BCLS certification. Certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred and prior OR experience is desired.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
• Two years previous experience as an operating room technician desired.
• Current BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Decide equipment and instrumentation sterilization.
• Maintain patient care and patient flow during procedures.
• Create and maintain a sterile environment in accordance with standards.
• Assist surgeon in scrubbed cases and support operating team.
• Ensure room readiness and stock supplies for each case.
• Perform sponge, needle and instrument counts as required.
• Adhere to OSHA, infection control, and department policies.
