Job summary

Mercy Montclair in Springfield, Missouri, is seeking a full-time Surgical Technologist. You will work alongside surgeons and the operating room team to prepare surgical instruments, preserve a sterile environment, and anticipate procedural needs throughout the surgical experience.

You will support a variety of surgical specialties while contributing to safe, efficient patient care and excellent clinical outcomes. This role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Education: High-School Diploma or GED are required.
• Licensure: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program required.

In this role, you'll work alongside surgeons and the operating room team to prepare surgical instruments, maintain a sterile environment, anticipate procedural needs, and help ensure safe, efficient patient care throughout the surgical experience. You'll support a variety of surgical specialties while contributing to seamless operating room operations, patient safety, and exceptional clinical outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications (Level II)

Education: High-School Diploma or GED are required.

Licensure: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program required.

Certifications:

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program required.

Other: Must understand English both written and spoken, must be able to safely and successfully perform job-related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law.

Transforming the Health of Our Communities

Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest. Many of these would join together in 1986 as Mercy.
