Job summary

Iberia Medical Center in Louisiana is hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist (Surgical Tech) for a full-time position. This role assists with patient surgical care, scrubs, prepares instruments, and supports surgeons during procedures while maintaining sterile technique.

Qualified candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, complete a surgical technology program, and be eligible for certification or grandfathered licensure in Louisiana.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a surgical technology program.
• Eligible to sit for the Surgical Technologist Certification Exam or grandfathered paths.
• Current Louisiana licensure/certification where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with nursing care of patients receiving surgical care and interventions.
• Scrub and assist during procedures, including instrument setup and handling.
• Deliver instruments during surgeries and maintain instrument quality.
• Maintain sterile technique and proper instrument cleaning and processing.
• Interact with patients and health team members to support safe care.

Iberia Medical Center is currently looking to hire aCertified Surgical Technologist (Surgical Tech),on a full time basis.TheSurgical Techassists with the nursing care of patients receiving surgical care and surgical intervention. Duties include scrubbing and other related procedures, including but not limited to: instrument setup, delivery during procedures, assisting the surgeons, instrument cleaning, processing and maintenance. Effectively interact with patient, significant others, and other heath team members. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, education, safety and related criteria for the newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population.

EDUCATION

• High School Graduate &/or graduate of accredited Surgical Technology Program.
• Eligible, but not mandatory, to sit for the Surgical Technologist Certification Exam or grandfathered for LPNâ€s and OR Techs who received on the job training.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION

• Current certification in the State of Louisiana, if applicable.

JOB KNOWLEDGE

• Basic knowledge of suture materials and techniques.
• Basic knowledge of biology and chemistry.
• Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Thorough knowledge of surgical procedures, maintenance and care of equipment.
• Working knowledge of electrical, laparoscopic, and powered surgical equipment.
