Job summary

Vassar Brothers Medical Center is seeking a scrub nurse to assist with nursing care activities and surgical services for neonate to geriatric patients. You will demonstrate knowledge to deliver appropriate care aligned with hospital policies and the Nursing Department.

Role requires CST licensure and at least one year of medical/surgical or OR experience, with a high school diploma or equivalent. The position is in the Perioperative - VASC department and is on-site.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: One year of previous medical/surgical and/or Operating Room experience.
• License: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required through NBSTSA or similar program.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the scrub nurse in assisting with nursing care activities and surgical services for a defined patient group.
• Provides instrumentation, maintains sterile technique, and supports the surgical team throughout procedures.

Job Summary:

Assumes responsibility and accountability for functioning as the scrub nurse in assisting with the nursing care activities and surgical services provided to a specific group of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult or geriatric patients consistent with the philosophy, goals, policies and procedures of the Nursing Department and Hospital Administration. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to the age of the patient served on the nursing unit or by patient care department.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• *Education:*Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• *Experience:*One year of previous medical/surgical and/or Operating Room experience.
• *License:*Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required through a nationally accredited educational program, such as National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).

Hourly: $37.65-$51.11Working Conditions:

Manual: Some manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational: Some occupational risk

Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force

Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
