Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist with at least 2 years of experience to join our Float Team. This PRN position offers a flexible schedule; a full-time candidate is expected to work three 10-hour shifts per week, including weekends.

There is no on-call requirement and travel between nearby campuses is possible. The Technologist will float between Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville and other campuses, supporting the operating room team, assembling and maintaining sterile fields,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Surgical Services Experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, organize, and maintain a sterile field for operative procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and the progression of the case and prepare accordingly.
• Proper disposition of specimens and instruments.
• Work with the surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety.

A full-time candidate is required to work three shifts per week, weekends included for both. All shifts are 10-hour shifts and there is no on-call required.
