Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the Float Pool serving West Michigan facilities, including Grand Rapids hospitals and surgery centers. The role requires traveling to multiple sites as needed, maintaining the sterile field and assisting in intraoperative instrument handling.

The candidate will have an Associate degree or equivalent in Surgical Technology, relevant surgical tech experience, and BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Required Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology OR the successful completion of an Accredited School of Surgical Technology. Not all schools involve an Associate's degree.
• Surgical Technologist Experience Required
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire Required

Responsibilities

• Float to various Corewell Health West locations as needed and travel to Grand Rapids facilities.
• Maintains responsibility for preparation of the surgical suite and intraoperative handling of instruments.
• Maintains the sterile field and evaluates changing conditions during procedures; may serve as a Preceptor.

About The Float Pool

Surgical Technologist in the float pool will travel to various West Michigan Corewell Health facilities. Included not limited to: Grand Rapids hospitals and surgery centers, Big Rapids, Pennock, Zeeland, Luddington, Greenville. We are currently looking for a candidate who is willing to go to all regions.

Scope of work

A Surgical Technologist in the float pool will float to various Corewell Health West locations as needed. Maintains responsibility for preparation of the surgical suite, intraoperative handling of instruments, maintenance of the sterile field, and evaluation of changing conditions during the surgical procedures, making appropriate responses as needed. Is responsible for maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and principles related to those procedures. May serve as a Preceptor.
