Job summary

Aurora Health Care is seeking a Surgical Technologist for our operating room in Charlotte, NC. The role supports the Registered Nurse circulator, handles supplies and instruments, and helps ensure sterile, efficient procedures.

Responsibilities include patient prep, instrument setup, and maintaining sterile technique. Applicants should have a Surgical Technology credential, BLS, and OR experience; NBSTSA/NCCT certification is preferred. This position is full-time and on-site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent military training.
• As of 5/26/2019, 2 years of operating room experience in a surgical technologist role are required.
• Current NBSTSA or NCCT certification is preferred.
• Meets qualifications of ST II in Surgical Tech Ladder.

Responsibilities

• Assists in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments for surgical procedures.
• Assists RN circulator in patient prep, assembly of instruments, and room turnover.
• Monitors and documents sterilization activities and sterility of supplies.
• Contributes to policy development and department standards.
• May serve as a preceptor or clinical resource for others.
• Participates in unit clinical projects as needed.
