Baystate Health in Westfield, MA is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the Surgical Services team at Baystate Noble Hospital. You will work closely with surgeons, physicians, nurses, and OR staff to support safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care.

The role emphasizes maintaining the sterile field, handling instruments, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team across multiple specialties.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent
• Prior experience in a surgical facility may qualify based on experience
• Must meet certification requirements if entering field after July 1, 2013

Responsibilities

• Facilitate safe and effective performance of procedures
• Maintain sterile and aseptic techniques
• Anticipate needs of the surgeon and team
• Prepare, manage, inspect, and operate designated equipment and instruments
• Be aware of patient history, allergies, and intraoperative plan
• Handle medications on the sterile field including labeling
• Support patient safety with specimen handling and sharps safety
• Maintain accurate documentation of responsibilities
