Job summary

Advocate Health is recruiting a Surgical Technologist for the Aurora Medical Center-Manitowoc County surgical team in Wisconsin. The role involves maintaining a sterile, efficient operating room, coordinating with the surgeons, and assisting as a second assistant as needed.

Shifts are 36 hours per week, with 8- or 10-hour options and on-call responsibilities including weeknights, most weekends, and occasional holidays. BLS and completion of a surgical technology program are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Provides a clean, safe and efficient area conducive to patient care; prepares materials, supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Performs various procedures and maintains knowledge of several procedures.
• Ensures OR disinfection, safety and efficiency; sets up rooms and moves equipment as needed.
• Functions as a Second Assistant when required.
• Notifies staff of equipment/supply problems.
• Transports patients and equipment.
• Maintains specialty carts and ensures equipment is complete and functional.
• Manages patient positioning and lifting with proper technique.
