Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support operating room services, assisting the surgeon, maintaining aseptic technique, and preparing instruments for variety of procedures.

Requirements include CST certification (or PA Act 80 exemption) and Graduation from Specialty Training Program; NBSTSA certification is preferred. Full-time, 36 hours weekly with 3x12 hour shifts, day/evening rotation, on-call every other weekend.

Qualifications

• Current CST certification required unless exempt under PA Act 80
• Graduate from Specialty Training Program is required
• NBSTSA certification is preferred/required

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon during procedures and prep for surgery
• Maintain aseptic technique and sterile field
• Prepare, arrange and count instruments and supplies
• Connect patients to clinical equipment and assist with positioning
• Assist in admission and discharge processes and patient transport
• Participate in on-call rotations and act as a preceptor to students
