Job summary

Black Canyon Surgical Center in Montrose, CO is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our OR team. You will maintain aseptic technique to ensure high-quality care across a diverse patient population (pediatric to geriatric). Prepare the operative environment, maintain the sterile field, and anticipate surgeon instrumentation needs in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Colorado DORA registration for Surgical Assistant and CST.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (Certificate or AS) preferred.
• NBSTSA CST certification preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Op: Select and open sterile packs, perform hand scrubs, don sterile attire, and organize back table/Mayo stand using surgeon preference cards.
• Intra-Op: Assist with draping, Time Outs, pass instruments/sutures, manage medications/irrigation, and perform counts.
• Post-Op: Apply sterile dressings, label specimens, break down the field, and transport instruments to decontamination.
• Department Maintenance: Restock ORs, return unused supplies, and assist sterile processing tasks as needed.
