Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for Surgical Day Care, per diem, on-site in Worcester, MA. The role supports the RN circulator, assists during operative procedures, and ensures sterile setup and instrument handling.

Responsibilities include scrubbing for physicians, preparing the OR, anticipating equipment needs, and maintaining specimen handling and counts. Requires graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program with CST credential and current BLS

Qualifications

• Accredited surgical technology program completed with CST credential.
• Credential from a recognized surgical technologist certifying body.
• Current BLS certification maintained biennially.

Responsibilities

• Scrub for physicians in assigned service area with minimal supervision.
• Prepare OR by selecting case carts and setting up trays.
• Anticipate equipment needs; set up back table and Mayo tray.
• Assist surgeon and team; monitor field for emergencies.
• Pass and track instruments; label meds; handle specimens.
