Job summary

Ortho Rhode Island is hiring a Surgical Technologist for our Warwick, RI facility. The role focuses on delivering safe patient care in the operating/procedure room, under RN supervision, with emphasis on sterile technique and instrument handling.

The position requires a High School diploma and BLS certification, plus at least one year of OR experience. You will work Monday-Friday days with generous benefits and opportunities for growth within a leading orthopedic group.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• BLS required.
• Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
• At least one year of experience as a Surgical Technician in the OR.

Responsibilities

• Delivers safe patient care according to OrthoRI policy and procedure.
• Responds to patient care needs in emergencies under direction of the Clinical Leader/Registered Nurse.
• Meets patients and families learning needs as identified in the plan of care.
• Functions as a certified scrub technician in the operating room under the direction of the RN.
• Assists with care, preparation, maintenance, and after-care of sterile and un-sterile supplies and equipment.
• Uses sterilizers, high-level disinfectors, instrument washers, and other processors.
• Understands operating room equipment according to guidelines and procedures.
• Stocking, replenishing and preparation of supplies.
• Checks updated schedule every morning and prepares room supplies.
• Participates in performance appraisals and supports ongoing improvement.
• Complies with HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
