Job summary

LiveWell Homecare Agency is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support surgeons during procedures, maintain aseptic conditions, and prioritize patient safety. The role covers operating room prep, sterile techniques, and collaboration with the surgical team.

The candidate should be CST-certified or eligible, have completed a surgical technology program, and possess knowledge of aseptic practice, equipment, and emergency protocols. Full-time position with day/evening shifts.

Qualifications

• Must hold CST certification or be eligible under state law.
• Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques, surgical equipment, and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with surgical procedures and prepare the operating room and equipment.
• Ensure correct surgical site identification and accurate supply and specimen management.
• Maintain sterile environment and follow universal precautions.
• Dispose of sharps and linens properly; assess wounds and apply sterile dressings.
• Participate in patient admission, discharge, and on-call rotations; act as a preceptor for students.
• Support billing, perform quality control, and handle specimen collection and patient transport.
• Follow all policies, protocols, and standards of care.

Job description

Role: Surgical Technologist responsible for assisting surgeons during procedures, maintaining aseptic techniques, and ensuring patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with surgical procedures across all ages, preparing the operating room and equipment.
• Ensure correct surgical site identification and accurate supply and specimen management.
• Maintain sterile environment, practice universal precautions, and participate in surgical briefings.
• Disposes of sharps and linens properly, assesses wounds, and applies sterile dressings.
• Participate in patient admission, discharge, and on-call rotations; act as a preceptor for students.
• Support billing, perform quality control, and handle additional duties like specimen collection and patient transport.
• Follow all policies, protocols, and standards of care.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or eligible under state law.
• Graduate from a specialty training program in surgical technology.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques, surgical equipment, and emergency procedures.
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to safety standards.
