Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA is hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist I or II for the Main OR. This full-time day shift runs 7AM–5PM with required on-call, 6–7 shifts/6 weeks. The role prepares the OR, passes instruments, and supports patient safety and sterile technique throughout procedures.

Qualifying individuals must be licensed in Virginia, hold CST or TS-C, plus BLS. OR experience preferred; sign-on bonus up to $15,000 is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Licensed Surgical Technologist – Virginia required.
• One of CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) certifications.
• BLS certification required.
• Operating room experience preferred.

Responsibilities

**Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital** is hiring a **Certified Surgical Technologist I or II** for the Main OR in Charlottesville, VA. This is a full time, Day shift from 7AM to 5PM with required call.**Call requirements**: 6 to 7 shifts per 6-week schedule.Sign on Bonus up to $15,000 available for qualified candidates!**Department Information:** Performing an average of 7,000 cases each year, the Operating Room at SMJH has 8 OR suites and offers a variety of service lines including; Complex GYN, Neurosurgery, Vascular/Thoracic and Orthopedic surgery. It is also the 2nd highest-performing OR in the Sentara system for Orthopedic total joint procedures.**The Surgical Technologist** ensures that the operating room is properly prepared with the necessary instruments and equipment and assists the surgical team throughout the procedure by passing instruments, maintaining the sterile field, and anticipating the needs of the surgeon. The role involves maintaining patient safety and ensuring that the surgical environment is organized, clean, and sterile. The Surgical Technologist assists in applying dressings, securing surgical drapes and transferring patients to recovery areas. Adheres to infection control protocols and sterile techniques to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety.
