UVA Health University Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA seeks experienced Certified Surgical Technologists to support Main OR, SCR, and Outpatient Surgical Centers. This role partners with surgeons, OR RNs, anesthesia providers, and staff to deliver safe, high-quality perioperative care.

You will prepare instruments, maintain sterile fields, assist the team, and contribute to efficient workflows across procedures.

Qualifications

• Education: CAHEEP/ABHES or NCCT approved program.
• Experience: Surg Tech I; higher levels may require more.
• Licensure: NBSTSA or NCCT; Virginia Board of Medicine registration.
• Certification: BLS required at start date.

Responsibilities

UVA Health University Medical Center is expanding its Perioperative and Operating Room operations and is seeking experienced Surgical Technologists to support growth across the Main OR, Surgical Care Riverside (SCR), and Outpatient Surgical Centers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Currently enrolled or graduated from a surgical technologist training program accredited by CAHEEP/ABHES OR NCCT Approved program.

Experience: No experience required for Surg Tech I (experience may be required for Surg II or above)

Licensure: BLS required. Certified to practice as a Surgical Technologist by NBSTSA (The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) or NCCT (The National Center for Competency Testing) required at time of start date. Current Registration with Virginia Board of Medicine required at the time of hire.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods; Repetitive motion: passing instruments, lifting heavy instrument sets. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull >50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to cold, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

The pay range for this role is $26.40 - $32.05 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
