Job summary

University Health - San Antonio is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the operating room team, maintain sterile technique, and help facilitate procedures for patients of all ages.

Under RN supervision, you will prepare rooms and instruments, anticipate surgeon needs, and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and nurses. Advancement through the Clinical Ladder is available. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Experience as a Surgical Technologist in a healthcare facility is preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating rooms, instruments, supplies, and equipment before procedures.
• Reviews surgeon preference cards and verifies required instrumentation.
• Maintains a sterile field throughout each procedure.
• Anticipates surgeon needs by selecting and passing instruments and supplies.
• Supports efficient patient flow by turnover and collaboration with team.
• Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and staff.
