Qualifications

• 1 year of surgical tech experience or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• Virginia Registered Surgical Technologist license.

Surgical Technologist 2 Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrate advanced knowledge in the first scrub role, including anatomy and instrumentation.
• Expedite surgeries by anticipating surgeon needs.
• Keep circulating nurse informed of patient care needs.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and organize sterile fields.
• Collaborate with team members and share knowledge on procedures and equipment.
• Serve as a resource in at least 2 specialty areas.
• Perform as a preceptor for new and experienced staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Surgical Technologist 2 Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of surgical tech experience or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• Virginia Registered Surgical Technologist license.
