Job summary

UW Health in northern Illinois seeks a Surgical Technologist to join the operating teams at UW Health Women’s and Children’s Hospital. The role includes night shifts with 90% FTE and location at 1350 Charles St, Rockford.

Compensation features shift differentials of $3/hr for evening, $4/hr for night, and $3.25/hr for weekends, plus potential overtime and on-call pay. Benefits include comprehensive coverage and career growth.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program, a recognized military surgical technologist training program, or two years of related clinical experience in a military setting.
• For employees hired before January 2022, no minimum education required.

Education

Surgical Technologist certification (preferred; required within 1 year)

Military clinical experience acceptable

Basic Life Support/CPR Certification

Work Schedule:

90% FTE, Night shift, you will work at UW Health Women’s and Children’s Hospital 1350 Charles St.

Additional components of compensation include impressive shift differentials

– $3/ hr evening, $4 hr night, and $3.25/ hr weekend shift differential as applicable for hours worked.

Additional components of compensation may include overtime and on-call pay.

Qualifications

Licenses & Certifications

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred at time of hire; required within 1 year of assuming position. In lieu of certification, will consider five years of surgical technologist experience and successful completion of surgical technologist education program or other education program which includes aseptic techniques and operative procedures. Required
• Basic Life Support/CPR Certification. Required
