Job description

We Are Hiring

• Department: Surgery
• Schedule: Full-time day shift, Monday - Friday, four 10-hour shifts, 6:30 am - 5:00 pm, rotating call weekends, holidays, and after hours
• Hospital: Ascension Via Christi, Manhattan
• Location: Manhattan, Kansas

What You Will Do

Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

• Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hand required and requested instruments and supplies to the surgeon during surgery.
• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
• Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor and track instrument counts throughout procedures.
• Assist surgeons in providing hemostasis during surgery.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR associate's degree/technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.

Additional Preferences

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program highly preferred.
