The main operating room at Children's Minnesota Minneapolis Hospital includes nine surgical suites and one procedure room. Our surgery centers are the first and only in Minnesota verified as a Level I Children's Surgery Center by the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the highest distinction for health systems performing complex pediatric surgeries. Minneapolis is also a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center.
We provide surgical care for children from fetuses and infants to young adults, performing over 10,000 procedures annually. Surgeries range from routine procedures like appendectomies and tonsillectomies to advanced surgeries such as neuro, craniofacial, cochlear implantation, and fetal surgeries. The Surgical Technologist is a vital member of the patient care team, providing skilled intra-operative technical support and care for surgical patients. Responsibilities include assisting surgeons, preparing and scrubbing all surgical procedures, and specializing in areas like cardiac, neurological, or laser surgery. The technologist functions as part of the call team for emergency procedures, maintaining aseptic technique and a sterile field, and anticipating the needs of surgeons to optimize outcomes and minimize surgical time. Their expertise ensures the delivery of high-quality, safe surgical care.
The posted salary is competitive based on local and national market data. Salary offers consider factors such as skills, education, credentials, experience, internal equity, and organizational needs.
Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions requiring night, weekend, or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
